Directions and Public Transport Yol tarifi ve ulaşım
Ask the way, understand the answer and get around by bus or metro: straight on, turn right, change lines, bus stop.
The rule
- Asking: Affedersiniz, ... nerede? — Excuse me, where is ...? ... nasıl gidebilirim? — How can I get to ...?
- Answers: Düz gidin — go straight on, sağa dönün — turn right, sola dönün — turn left, ikinci sokaktan sağa — second street on the right, ışıklardan sonra — after the traffic lights.
- Location: karşıda — opposite, yanında — next to, köşede — on the corner, yakın — near, uzak — far.
- Transport: durak — stop, aktarma — change/transfer, bilet — ticket. In Istanbul you pay with İstanbulkart, in Ankara with Ankarakart.

- — Metro istasyonu uzak mı? — Hayır, beş dakika. Düz gidin, sonra sola dönün.— Is the metro station far? — No, five minutes. Go straight, then turn left.
