Past Tense (-dı) Geçmiş zaman (-dı)
Completed actions in the past: geldim — I came, gittik — we went.
The rule
- Formula: stem + dı/di/du/dü + ending: -m (I), -n (you), — (he/she), -k (we), -nız (you pl.), -lar (they).
- After hard consonants (ç, f, h, k, p, s, ş, t) the d becomes t: tı/ti/tu/tü: yaptım, gittim.
- Negative: gelmedim — I didn't come. Question: geldin mi? — did you come? (the ending comes before mi).
