Possessive 's İyelik: Ali's car
Bir şeyin kime ait olduğunu "'s" ile anlatma: Ali's car, my parents' house, the children's toys.
Ne zaman kullanılır?
- Tekil isim + 's: Ali's car, my mother's job, the dog's bowl.
- -s ile biten çoğul isim + yalnız ': my parents' house, the students' books.
- -s ile bitmeyen çoğul + 's: the children's toys, women's clothes, people's opinions.
- Cansız şeylerde genellikle of kullanılır: the end of the film, the door of the car (ya da birleşik isim: the car door).
- Mekân anlamında: at my sister's (kız kardeşimin evinde), at the doctor's (doktorda).
