Say mi, Tell mi? Say or Tell
İkisi de "söylemek" ama tell her zaman kişi alır (tell someone), say ise almaz ya da "to" ile alır.
Ne zaman kullanılır?
- tell + kişi: She told me the news. Tell him to wait.
- say + (that) + cümle, kişi yok: She said (that) she was tired. Kişi eklenirse to ile: She said to me that...
- Doğrudan alıntıda say: "Hello," he said.
- Kalıplar: tell a story, a lie, the truth, a joke, the time, the difference · say hello, goodbye, sorry, yes/no, a word.
